Hello

Welcome! It's a little empty in here, but that should change very soon.

It's November.

November is National Novel Writing Month - NaNoWriMo. NaNo, for the uninitiated, is the most glorious hell imaginable. It is a month of coffee and screaming and bullshit and glory. The goal? To write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. It doesn't have to be publishable. It doesn't even have to be legible. The point is to write. To sit down and shut up and finally say Fuck Everyone, I'm Writing a Novel, and actually do it. Editing comes later.

There are some NaNoers who write 200,000 word masterpieces and have been working on outlines and characters for months now. I am not one of those writers.

I am one of the NaNoers who realized today that it is November, and oh shit, I need a plot. I am one of the people who will be spending November 30th catching up my last 10,000 words. I am one of the people who separates hyphenated words to boost word count. I am one of the NaNoers who, when out of ideas, throws in a sex scene just to make something happen.

I started this blog in the hopes that having my progress out in the open would inspire me to get my daily 1667 words in. Be prepared for a lot of crap to appear in this space.

  5. Wow, I wish I knew about novel writing month, I got at least six things I have never finished.

If i had the effort, which I know I don't I would have attempted to complete a novel by the end of the month.

I'll be watching! Hope you get through it all!
